Incubation is an interactive installation that reflects on humanity’s growing relationship with artificial intelligence.

The work imagines AI as a living entity in formation — something we continuously feed with our questions, images, memories, habits, and desires, often without fully knowing what it will become. Suspended between curiosity and anxiety, the installation explores the strange intimacy between human and machine: we shape it, but it also begins to shape the way we think, create, and understand ourselves.

Rather than presenting AI as a tool of pure progress or a threat to be feared, Incubation sits in the tension between both. It speaks about convenience, dependency, guilt, and fascination — the quiet reality that many of us rely on AI even as we question its consequences.

For the artist, the work is also a reflection on his own practice. AI is used not to generate the artwork itself, but as a tool for research, writing, organising thoughts, and asking better questions. Incubation therefore becomes less about replacing human creativity, and more about examining what happens when creativity begins to coexist with a system that learns from us.

The project asks: if we are constantly feeding AI, what kind of creature are we raising?
