Last Monument is a sculptural light installation that reflects on the fragility of human progress.

The work questions the endless pursuit of advancement, where towers rise higher, cities expand faster, and architecture becomes a monument to power, ego, and capital. What appears glorious and permanent is shown instead as unstable — a concrete mass held at a breaking point.

At the centre of the work, a narrow column of light supports the fractured structure above. This light becomes a symbol of hope, but also of danger: slim, fragile, and almost impossible to sustain. Around it, arch-like forms derived from the Chinese character 人, meaning humanity, suggest the people and cultures that continue to hold up what remains.

Last Monument asks what kind of legacy we are building, and whether progress can still move toward a future that is more humane, spiritual, and connected to the environment.
